Job Description

ROLE & PURPOSE:
• Working with the business to define, capture, prioritise and document business
requirements and business rules
• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops,
surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, task, and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low level
information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the
underlying true needs.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to
analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following
artefacts as needed: Project Request Form, Business Requirements Document and
Use cases.
• They successfully manage the requirements development process through the
elicitation, analysis, specification and verification and management of multiple
levels of requirements while providing continuous improvement to the process and
methods.
• Produce the Business Requirements Definition documentation and any other
relevant documentation per the Iarnród Eireann ICT project delivery methodology
• Responsible for obtaining business signoff of the functional requirements and
working with the Architects in providing input to the technical requirements
definition and low-level technical design where required
• Trace and monitor the functional requirements during all delivery stages from
development and unit testing to detailed user acceptance testing to ensure there
are no gaps between what is specified and what is ready to be deployed,
identifying scope issues for escalation to the Project Manager
• Design and/or contribute to the design of business solutions, including, the
development and approval of specifications, the development of test strategies,
test plans, and test scripts, monitoring the execution of test scripts by 3rd parties
and management of UAT
• Act as a core repository of knowledge – e.g. participate in testing, validating,
piloting, researching, and resolving post implementation issues
• Document system scenarios detailing the expected impacts of any business or
technology change on the existing systems, operations, organisation, operating
model, and end-to-end processes supporting the Project Manager in developing a
change management/training plan for the business
• Design and deliver user and training manuals and facilitate the training of business
users in any new/updated solutions or business processes
• Experience working across multiple projects with significant complexities in
multiple business units
• Experience of applications integrating to Mulesoft and Azure
• Experience using appropriate tools for business process modelling and
requirements management/traceability.
• Providing input to RFP & RFI responses and working with all stakeholders to
accurately estimate implementation effort
• Support the transitioning of projects over to service working closely with the
Service Team to ensure Service introduction standards are met
• Handling any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH:
• All staff working in the CIO Office – including Programme managers, Project
Managers, Business Relationship Managers, Solution Architects, Service
Department, Business Sponsors and Financial managers.
• External Vendors and Consultants appointed to complete various elements of the
project.
KEY QUALITIES:
ESSENTIAL:
• You should hold a degree or diploma in related area or commensurate experience
and six sigma / lean practitioner, business analysis, or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience directly relevant to the role
• Process Mapping experience
• Knowledge of project management methodologies – Prince2 / PMI
• A good understanding of the software development lifecycle and an appreciation of
ICT architecture
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio
• Experience in the application of IT solutions to enhance business processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Have a strong focus on delivery (scope, deadlines, budget, quality)
• Ability to develop strong relationships with both technical and non-technical
members of the team
• Excellent time management, organization and planning skills with a keen attention
to detail

• Experience in various mind mapping/requirement gathering tools.
• Experience of Transportation processes and systems.
