Job Description

Overview
of the Material Planner Position:

Reporting to the Supply Chain
Manager, the Material Planner will be responsible for management and supply of
assigned materials, components and OEM’s, cost effectively through appropriate
vendors, while optimizing inventory levels and ensuring availability of
materials in line with planned requirements. You will work closely with
Production Planning, Customer Service, Production,

Accounts, Warehouse, Engineering,
QA, QC, and Tech Support.

The
Planner will be responsible for:

 

·       Manage
the supply of materials ensuring a high standard of customer service without
disruption to the production plan.

·       Inventory
Management – maintain the minimum necessary inventory and report monthly on the
status of inventory levels for assigned portfolio.

·       Identify
and challenge safety stock levels, MOQ’s, component leadtimes, etc as part of
your inventory management.

·       Measure
& report stock outs, material shortages.

·       Maintain
item master data, i.e. lead times, minimum order qty/order multiple,safety
stock levels.

·       Maintenance
and improvement of customer service levels (internal ramp; external).

·       Ensure
and maintain realistic dates on PO for accuracy of information to Production,
Planning and Customer Service at all times.

·       Expedite
or de-expedite product as required, ensuring material availability at all
times.

·       Action
MRP messages effectively and efficiently, with the agreed timeframe.

·       Timely
release of purchase orders in line with MRP.

·       Work
closely with Production Planners to allow generation of a valid production
plan.

·       Conduct
QBR’s (Quarterly Business Reviews) with key Suppliers.

·       Achieve
99% min OTD.

 

There will be some travel to/from external warehouse so a
Clean Drivers License is also required.
