Job Description

As a
Supervisor in our Mech-Elec Specialist Repair Centre, you will play a vital
role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations. You will be
responsible for supervising & leading a team of technicians (mechanical
fitters & electricians), ensuring that work is completed efficiently,
accurately, and in a timely manner. Your strong leadership skills, technical
knowledge, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the success of the
shop and the satisfaction of our customers. You will be asked to be involved
with hands on work 50-80% of the time depending on workshop demands.

 

Key responsibilities:

·       Supervise and manage a team of
technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.

·       Allocate work assignments to
technicians and ensure that work is performed in accordance with established
procedures and quality standards.

·       Monitor and review the progress of
work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met and any issues or delays are
promptly addressed.

·       Conduct regular inspections of work
in progress and completed repairs to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to
specifications.

·       Troubleshoot and diagnose complex
mechanical & electrical issues or problems, providing technical expertise
and guidance to technicians.

·       Coordinate and schedule maintenance
and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are
available and utilised efficiently.

·       Maintain and update service records,
including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy
and completeness.

·       Ensure compliance with safety
regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working
environment for both employees and customers.

·       Collaborate with other departments
or teams, such as parts procurement or customer service, to facilitate smooth
workflow and customer satisfaction.

·       Assist with warehouse management,
incoming and outgoing shipments.

·       Assist with stock management and
stock takes.

·       Stay abreast of industry trends,
technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing your
knowledge and skills to improve shop operations.


Requirements

·       Knowledge of Electric Motors, vacuum
pumps, gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, water chillers, temperature control units,
Blowers are a significant advantage.

·       Knowledge of ATEX requirements
especially Ex d, Ex e and other Ex motors a significant advantage.

·       Strong leadership and supervisory
skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.

·       Excellent technical knowledge and
expertise of the Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor industries.

·       Proficient in diagnosing,
troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical & electrical issues or problems.

·       Strong organizational and time
management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple
projects simultaneously.

·       Exceptional problem-solving
abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to finding
solutions.

·       Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team
members, customers, and other stakeholders.

·       Sound decision-making skills, with
the ability to make informed judgments and handle unexpected situations or
challenges.

·       Proficient in using computerized
maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software or tools.
